Cornelius Kegs, also known as Corny Kegs, are tall cylindrical containers that were originally designed (and continue to be used) for the storage, distribution, and dispensing of carbonated beverages such as Pepsi and Coke.

Corny Kegs, on the other hand, have become very popular with homebrewers who want to forego the process of bottling beer and instead enjoy their brew on draft. Corny Kegs have a capacity of five gallons, which is the size of a typical batch of homebrew. In addition, their design makes it simple to fill, clean, and maintain.  

The connection on most Cornelius Kegs is of the ball-lock variety; however, some of the brand's older models still use the pin-lock variety.

The Quarter Barrel Keg, also known as the Pony Keg or the Stubby Quarter, resembles the standard beer keg that you are accustomed to seeing at keg parties; however, it is significantly shorter (hence the term "stubby"). It's 7 75 gallons, and it's just right for intimate gatherings.

The capacity of this long and slender keg is identical to that of its shorter and stockier relative, the Quarter Barrel Keg. This keg has dimensions that are comparable to those of a 1/6 Barrel, which makes it a good option for those who have dual-tap kegerators, but it has a capacity of 7 gallons. It has a capacity of 75 gallons, which places it more than two gallons above a sixtel.

Alternately referred to as an import keg, a european barrel, or a 50-liter barrel.

European breweries typically use kegs with a capacity of 50 liters, which is roughly equivalent in size to their American counterpart, the half-barrel keg. This is the most common size of keg used in many countries in Europe, including the United Kingdom. Heineken, Newcastle, Hoegaarden, and Stella Artois are among the most well-known import brands in the United States.
