Updated financial transaction system
Using a PayID, you can make and receive payments in a matter of seconds, on average.
You can now get paid in a manner that is very close to real time using nothing more than your mobile number as a PayID. ABN PayID registration is also available to customers who have business profiles.
It is likely that your family and friends have saved your mobile phone number in their contact lists, and since your customers have your ABN, you won't have to worry about them asking you for your bank account information, which will make it much simpler for them to pay you. Payments will typically be received within a few seconds, but the process could take longer. This service is available around the clock, including on weekends and public holidays.
Now is the time to make a PayID.
Creating a PayID involves linking your mobile number or ABN to an eligible St. George bank account. Your name is on the bank account for George.

Additionally, it is now much simpler to make payments to family members or friends using their registered PayID, even if those individuals bank with a different financial institution. You are able to pay with any PayID, whether it be a mobile number, an email address, a landline, an ABN (which includes ACN, ARBN, and ARSN), or an Organization ID. You will have the ability to attach a more detailed message to the transaction. Your communication will be delivered along with your payment. PayIDs or BSBs and account numbers can be used in place of PayIDs when making payments through Fast Osko®.
Making it easier for other people to pay you
By providing your mobile phone number, you can use something called a PayID to make it simple for other people to access information about your bank account.
Better information regarding payments
You can include up to 280 characters worth of additional information in your payment description.
What exactly am I supposed to do?
Make sure that the mobile number we have on file for you is up to date, and set up your PayID using either the Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking app on your device.
Osko by BPAY® enables these instant payments to be made between eligible accounts at participating financial institutions, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including on weekends and public holidays. The typical transaction time is less than a few seconds.
Near real-time processing will be used for all payments made to a PayID. - What exactly is the PayID?
Customers with business profiles have the option of registering an ABN PayID in addition to their mobile phone number as a PayID. It's like a simpler alternative to your BSB and account number that you can easily remember. It is specific to both you and the bank account that is eligible for it. Your basic savings account number and account number won't change; they'll both continue to be the same.
- Does the implementation of PayID imply that I will no longer require my BSB and account number?
It is still possible to use BSB and account numbers. PayID is merely an alternate and significantly less complicated method of directing a payment to a bank account.
- How will I be able to use a PayID that is eligible to receive payments?
After you have created a PayID by using your mobile number (or ABN for business customers) and it has been activated, you can start giving your mobile number or ABN to people who need to pay you. This can be done as soon as the PayID you created has been activated. The activation of your PayID will only take a few moments at most. They will see your PayID name appear on the screen when they use it to make a payment to you. The money will be deposited straight into the bank account that you specified when you set up your PayID.
