Simple fondant made of marshmallows
Have you ever been to an upscale bakery and pondered how the bakers get the cakes, cupcakes, and cookies to look so picture-perfect? The correct response is fondant
The use of fondant, a thick sugar paste, in the decoration of baked goods is preferred because it is both simpler and more reliable than using buttercream or other types of icing in this capacity. It will produce a very smooth surface on your favorite baked goods, which will make it much easier for you to decorate them.
In contrast to other fondant recipes, which call for gelatin, glycerin, and various other flavorings, this marshmallow fondant requires only a few basic ingredients, most of which are probably already in your kitchen. Not only does it have a wonderful flavor, but it's also very simple to prepare at home. It is the ideal approach to taking your decorating to the next level.

How to Make a Fondant with Marshmallows
THE INGREDIENTS ARE:
- mini marshmallows
- water
- sugar in powdered form
- vanilla extract
- I recommend the brand Wilton for their gel food colors.

NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS –
Preparing Marshmallows - To begin, place the marshmallows in a large bowl that is safe for use in the microwave. Next, evenly distribute the water over the top of the marshmallows.
To melt the marshmallows, place them in a microwave safe bowl and heat them on high for thirty seconds. After that, give them a good stir. Continue heating them for intervals of 30 seconds until the marshmallows are completely melted.
Sugar and Vanilla Extract Mix one teaspoon of vanilla extract into the melted marshmallows, followed by one-half cup of powdered sugar. Combine that with the rest of the ingredients until they are uniform. Take into consideration that the marshmallow mixture will be extremely sticky and challenging to stir.
Add more of the remaining powdered sugar little by little, stirring constantly, until the finished product has the look and feel of playdough.
Coloring Fondant: If you want to color the fondant, first separate the amount of fondant that you want to color and then add a few drops of the gel food color to the mixture. After that, knead the fondant until the color of the dough is uniformly distributed throughout.

Advice on How to Make Fondant With Marshmallows
Gel food coloring, as opposed to food coloring made with water, is recommended for the best color, as this type of coloring produces more vibrant and long-lasting results. You can get it at most supermarkets, but Walmart's cake decorating section has a particularly large selection of gel food colorings. You can also get it at other stores.
Put on Gloves – When working with the food coloring, I found that it was easiest to do so while wearing gloves that I had dusted with powdered sugar. To get an even distribution of it will require some kneading work, but if you keep at it, it will come together in the end.
If the fondant is too sticky, you can try adding a little bit more confectioner's sugar to the mixture. You will need to keep adding more until you achieve the desired consistency.

How To Make Use Of The Marshmallow Glue
What kinds of things are you able to make with your colorful marshmallow fondant now that you have it? The only limit is in the sky It's very easy to roll out with a rolling pin and shape in a variety of different ways, which makes it ideal for decorating baked goods like cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. The consistency is very similar to playdough.
Cookies – Using marshmallow fondant as a topping for sugar cookies is one of my most favored and least difficult ways to put it to use. Simply roll out the fondant, cut it with the same cookie cutters that you used for the cookies, and attach it to the top of the cookie with a dab of buttercream frosting. This will give the cookies a professional look.
And voila A cookie with a flawless frosting that not only tastes amazing but also appears to have come from a bakery. There is no simpler way to put it than that. You are free to make the cookies in any level of complexity that you desire. This Sugar Cookie Recipe is one of our favorites, and it's one you should try if you're looking for a great recipe to use.

How to Properly Maintain Marshmallow Icing
If you want to make the cookies in advance, you should make sure to store them at room temperature in an airtight container. This will prevent the fondant from becoming dry. If stored in this manner, the cookies should remain edible for between three and five days. Have fun playing around with fondant to give all of your baked goods a more elegant appearance.
Storage: If, after decorating your cookies or cupcakes, you find that you have leftover marshmallow fondant, you can store it and save it to use at a later time. Because marshmallow fondant can become dry relatively quickly, I like to first wrap it in plastic wrap and then place it in a container that is airtight before putting it away for storage. It is recommended that the fondant be kept at room temperature (do not refrigerate or freeze it), and its shelf life should be approximately two months.

IN THE INTEREST OF YOUR CONVENIENCE, I HAVE PROVIDED YOU WITH A PRINTABLE RECIPE CARD –

- 8 ounces mini marshmallows
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound sugar in powdered form
- coloring agent in gel form
- Put the marshmallows in a bowl that can be heated in the microwave. The water should be sprinkled on top of everything. Microwave the marshmallows on high for 30 seconds, stir them, then return them to the microwave for another 30 seconds, or until they are completely melted. Mix in the extract of vanilla bean.
- After adding half of the powdered sugar, combine the ingredients by stirring with a wooden spoon. However, you must persevere because it will be very sticky and may be difficult to stir. To achieve a dough with the consistency of play dough, incorporate more powdered sugar into the mixture. It's possible that you'll need to knead it with your hands in order to get it nice and smooth.
- In order to color the fondant, place a few drops of gel food coloring into a ball of fondant, and then knead the food coloring into the fondant until it is evenly distributed. Always use gloves to avoid getting food coloring on your skin, and if the fondant becomes sticky, add a little more powdered sugar.
- Roll it out and use it to decorate cupcakes or cookies. Keep in a container that won't let air in.
