Master the Art of Transferring a Business Name with These Proven Techniques

Welcome to ASIC Connect, the online platform for managing your business name. You can easily transfer your business name to a new owner via your ASIC Connect account. Before starting the transaction, ensure that your business email address is up to date, as the transfer number will be sent to this address. In case of any discrepancies, you can update your business address details.

To begin, visit the ASIC website and click on the blue ASIC Connect box. If you do not have an ASIC Connect account, click "Sign up." Log in using your email address and password and link your business name to your account. For help with linking, refer to the user guide "How to link a business name to your ASIC Connect account."

To transfer your business name, select the "Lodgements & Notifications" tab and choose the specific business name. Then select "Cancel/Transfer Business Name" in the transactions column and click "Go." Indicate that you want to transfer the business name to another owner and select "Next."

Review the displayed information for accuracy and click "Submit." Read the declaration and select your authority for submitting the transaction. Click "Next" to proceed.

Once your submission is confirmed, you can print a PDF or access more information about other services. After completing the transaction, a transfer number will be sent to your business email address or address for service of documents. Share this transfer number with the new business name owner so that they can register the business name in their name.
