Certificate of authenticity for COVID-19 digital devices

People who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine that has been authorized or recognized are eligible to receive a digital certificate for the COVID-19 virus.

Once you have obtained your digital certificate, you will be able to store it in a digital wallet or share it with an app that is used to check in to a state or territory.  

You are able to upload your COVID-19 digital certificate to the Service NSW app in the state of New South Wales.

    • Health card for senior citizens

To begin, you will need a MyServiceNSW Account in addition to the most recent update of the Service NSW mobile app.

Then, you can either use the Express Plus Medicare app or your Medicare online account through myGov to add your COVID-19 digital certificate.

  5. Choose your own name.  
  6. Choose the option to "Share with check in app."  
  7. Select "Service NSW," and then proceed with the on-screen instructions.  
  8. Sign in to the Service NSW app using the credentials you were provided, and then follow the on-screen instructions to add your certification to your profile.  

An Individual Healthcare Identifier, also known as an IHI, is required of you in order to provide online proof of having received your COVID-19 vaccinations if you are not qualified for Medicare. Through myGov, you will be able to acquire an IHI.

  1. Log in to your myGov account through a browser on the device you're using it on.
  2. Choose the "Individual Healthcare Identifiers service" from the drop-down menu.
  3. Choose the "Immunization history" option.

Automatic removal

After you add it, your COVID-19 digital certificate will be viewable in the Service NSW app for a period of only one year from the date you added it.

After a year, you'll have the option to add it to the application once more if it's still required.

You are able to provide evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 by presenting:

  • The app for Service NSW
  • digital wallet (Apple or Android)
  • Express Plus Medicare mobile app
  • MyGov provides access to the Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) service.
