In today's world, a rapid antigen test is a way to determine quickly if you have contracted COVID-19. The test will yield a result that displays on a device that accompanies it, and you will conduct the test yourself.
Registering a result for yourself, another adult, or a child will be necessary for each positive case. Suppose you return to NSW to self-isolate and test positive for COVID-19 in another state or territory. In that case, you must register your result with Service NSW. NSW Health advises that if a rapid antigen test shows you are COVID-19 positive, it is recommended you register the result with Service NSW.
Though no longer mandatory, volunteering to register your positive COVID-19 result results in helping NSW Health combat the ongoing pandemic. You will also gain access to medical support, including antiviral medicines, if deemed eligible. Do not register your result if you have a negative or invalid rapid antigen test result, have reported a positive rapid antigen test result within the last 28 days, or a positive PCR test in the past 28 days via the Service NSW mobile app or website.
In case of severe chest pain, fainting episodes, or difficulty breathing, call Triple Zero (000) directly. Be sure to inform the ambulance staff of your COVID-19 diagnosis.
