Training Program

The White Card NSW Course is a basic entry-level program covering personal awareness, basic risk management, hazard identification, and emergencies that demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to work safely in the construction industry.

Students need to present evidence of identity for 100 points, which must include a photo, date of birth, signature, and current residential address. Without 100 points, students will not be accepted into the class. Upon successful completion of this 7-hour program, students will obtain a temporary certificate valid for 60 days from the date issued, and the White Card will be mailed.

The program includes theoretical and practical training in the classroom, as well as assessments for both knowledge and skills. We use plain language, videos, photos, and questioning to ensure that all students can comprehend the required knowledge and skills.

Please note that assessments must be completed in English and without further assistance. If you require assistance due to your Language, Literacy or Numeracy skills, please contact our office on 02 9232 1010 to discuss your training needs.

During the course, students receive lunch breaks, but lunch is not provided. Students have multiple opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills to become competent in the unit.

In the event that a student is unable to complete all assessments satisfactorily, they will be required to enroll in the White Card course once again, but will have to pay a $50 NYC Fee.

Accreditation Status

Once it is determined that the student is capable, they will receive a Statement of Training (SOT) which will be valid for 60 days from the date of issue. Upon receiving this certification, students can join any construction site immediately after the course.

In addition to the Statement of Training, learners will also receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS1001 - Work Safely in the Construction Industry.

The final White Card will be sent by SafeWork NSW to the student's address, usually within 60 days.

To report the loss, theft, or request a replacement of the White Card, please contact SafeWork NSW on 131 050.
