The government of the state of Victoria has announced that they will be repealing laws that have historically allowed paedophiles to hide their identities behind court suppression orders. It has taken a long time, but the general public will soon get what it has always wanted, which is protection and disclosure from the courts, so that rock spiders will no longer be able to hide under the outdated suppression orders that these animals hid under like rats. This is something that has been wanted for a very long time. to cover their tracks, move stealthily, and gnaw away at our kids without being noticed or recognized. Without a shadow of a doubt, the laws of the remaining states MUST ALSO BE AMENDED IN SIMILAR MANNER. VICTIMS AND THE PUBLIC MUST COME BEFORE THE CRIMINAL

Judges who are debating whether or not to prevent the publication of the identity of a sexual offender are now required to prioritize the interests of any victims over the protection of children, families, and the general public when deciding whether or not to exercise this discretion. Instead of "these weak individuals" who prey on our children in the shadows, the change was made to protect the general public.

Location: Adelaide S A

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court, the defendant entered a guilty plea to four counts of aggravated production of child exploitation material, one count of aggravated possession of child exploitation material, and one count of possession of child exploitation material.  

The defendant was sentenced to three years in prison for the possession of child exploitation material as well as its production. In 2020, he would have been eligible for parole.

Offence:   Guilty pleas entered on charges of unlawful carnal knowledge and indecent treatment of a child under the age of 16

Sentence:   Acknowledged as a sexual offender and given a sentence of two months of a 15-month prison term to serve behind bars.

Offence: convicted of committing indecent assault on a child as well as three counts of possessing material depicting child abuse

Sentence: The charge of indecent assault resulted in a sentence of two years in prison with a period of 18 months during which the defendant would not be eligible for parole. He was given an additional cumulative prison sentence of six, twenty-four, and sixteen months for the charges of possessing child abuse material, with a period of non-parole of twelve months for the charge of possessing the most severe type of child abuse material.

Offence:   pleaded guilty to the charges of committing an act of indecency on a person under the age of 16, as well as committing an act of indecency upon a person over the age of 16.

Sentence: Received a sentence of one year in prison with a mandatory minimum term of nine months

Other: Stubbings was unsuccessful in his attempt to reduce the severity of his sentence. In addition to that, he was added to the register for sexual offenders. Stubbings is required to make a yearly report to the police in order to inform them of his mobile phone number, the details of his internet connection, and the people who reside in his premises. If Stubbings wants to travel outside of New South Wales (NSW), he is required to inform the police and get permission.

Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and Canberra, the ACT

Offence: pleaded guilty to four charges connected with the use of the victim – who was then 15 and 16 years old – for the production of child pornography, and was found guilty of another seven charges which related to sexual intercourse and acts of indecency with the victim when she was 15 years old.

Sentence:  The ACT Supreme Court handed down a three-year good behavior order as part of the sentence.

Sentence: He was sentenced to eight years in prison with a mandatory minimum term of five years and eight months. In 2024, he will be eligible for parole consideration.

Location: Wendouree, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia

Offence:   In February of 2009, the defendant was found guilty of raping a woman after first binding and blindfolding her.

Sentence: A total of eight years and three months in prison, with no chance of parole for the first six years of his sentence. For the next eight years, he will be considered a sexual offender.

Other: Also found guilty of committing indecent assault against a child in the city of Wendouree between the months of June and December in 2012.

Location: Corowa / Wagga Wagga, NSW

Offence: convicted on two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child who was younger than 10 years old.

Sentence: Served nine years of his sentence in jail In August of 2023, the offender will become eligible for parole.

Other: While Kershaw was sound asleep in the living room of a friend's house, the friend's son went into the child's room and sexually assaulted her. Her mother overheard the victim screaming, which prompted her to get up and investigate. When she did, she discovered Kershaw hiding behind the bedroom door, having committed both of the crimes. The police were called and arrested Kershaw not long after near the scene.
