Unlock the Secrets of NSW's 'Singles Social Bubble': What You Need to Know
As the lockdown in New South Wales continues, singles can form a bubble with one other person to alleviate mental health concerns. However, the nominated person can only visit the single person's home and cannot be visited in return. For those living in the 12 local government areas under tighter lockdown restrictions, the nominated person must live within a 5-kilometre radius and register at Service NSW. Regional residents can travel more than 5 kilometres but cannot leave the area. The nominated person can bring their children if alternative care arrangements are not available. Both individuals are exempted from the current car-pooling prohibition when traveling for exercise/outdoor recreation and do not need to wear masks. The nominated person cannot be in another social bubble, and if the single person has a disability, their carer or support worker can accompany them. International travel requires an exemption application. Readers in need of mental health support can contact Beyond Blue.
